Music and Relax trip at CocoCay by Joe
Recently Joe wrote in his blog an interesting article about his trip to Cococay and Nassau. Here we share his comments with CocoCay funs.
If you don’t know, K-LOVE is a radio station that plays contemporary Christian music. Sounds remarkably like pop or rock music, only with a Christian message. They have this cruise every year, and invite several bands to play on the ship. So, the cruise is basically a floating week-long concert. We went to Coco Cay, Royal Caribbean’s private island, and Nassau. Wonderful, relaxing trip. Good company, great music, met some new friends, and a great surprise….I love the show The Biggest Loser. Sean Algaier, from Season 8, was on the boat too, and he led sunrise workouts every day. I HATE getting up early. But I did, just to work out with him. Plus it just felt good to work out. Chris Tomlin, Louie Giglio (who is about one of the best speakers I’ve ever heard), the (new) Newsboys, Tenth Avenue North, MercyMe, Downhere, 33 Miles, Fireflight, Big Daddy Weave…..man, it just rocked.

Kayak tour at CocoCay
Enjoy this Kayak Tour at Cococay by lemonjenny. Nice experience at CocoCay is to take one of the Sea Kayak tours from the beach. If not, read the lines that lemonjenny wrote as a comment for this photo.
We took a two hour Sea Kayak tour from the beach of Coco Cay, across the channel to Great Stirrup Cay. It was a definite highlight of the trip, and I want to do it again.

Honeymoon at CocoCay, Bahamas
CocoCay is a little island in Bahamas that do not have hotel infrastructure (yet) but you can spend a full day visit to the island on one of the cruises that park in CocoCay port. The Market at Cococay

Bahamas Beach at Cococay
Bahamas beaches are beautiful. You can enjoy a wonderful Bahamas Beach at Cococay island. As we commented earlier, Cococay is accessible by taking one of the popular cruises to Bahamas.
CocoCay do not have hotel accommodations yet, since it is intended that visitors spend a full day on the Island while enjoying a few days cruisetour for Bahamas. Usually the cruises stops in Cococay to enjoy its attractions with the family or friends. Of course Cococay is one of the Bahamas attractions. It is also a great place to take pictures of Bahamas.
If you are looking for accomodations then it would be good that you check other options near CocoCay, for example on Our Lucaya at Grand Bahamas Island.
Time in Cococay
There are many many different experiences and stories by people who enjoyed a full day at Cococay island.
This is the story of Taylor White that wrote in a blog about the experience on Cococay.
Kevin and I went to explore the island further. I wanted to stop by the Straw Market and see if there was anything neat. I ended up finding a really neat photo album made out of local plantage. I thought it would be perfect to put in favorite photos from the trip! Kevin wasn’t in a shopping mood, so we continued on further when I saw a sign for the Nature Trail. I remembered seeing that on the map and I thought it would be cool to go see all the nature things they had on the island. We found it and walked down it a little ways. It was mainly a lot of trees and shrubbery. We did see little lizards and birds, though.
As they mentioned, the island can be explorer further, the vegetation, bars, nature trail with side trees. You can just pick a map and do a quick exploration over the island.
Lunch was a free BBQ at the restaurant on the island. The ship provided it since it was a Royal Caribbean owned island. There was BBQ chicken and ribs, hot dogs and burgers, veggies, fruit, and Mac & Cheese! Sweet! It was really good. While we were eating, all of a sudden I see a little thing run by in the corner of my eye. It was a chicken! (Yeah, not eating my BBQ chicken in front of them…)

Chilly Day in Cococay
The_stamms recently enjoyed a great day at CocoCay and he wrote in his travel blog, the following about the trip:
Since Chad and JP closed down the boat’s bars the night before, Challi got off to a slow start on a chilly day in CocoCay. CocoCay is a small island in the Bahamas completely owned by Royal Caribbean, and aside from a barbecue on the beach, there really isn’t much to do aside from the beachy excursions like snorkeling, parasailing or swimming. Since it was still pretty chilly, we weren’t planning to partake in the activities
We are sitting in a hot tub eleven floors above the ocean, having drinks with family and friends, moving twenty miles an hour across the blue waters below as the sun sets over the islands of the Bahamas.
Again, seems they enjoyed the stay at CocoCay and as other people already did in Internet, they shared the great experience in their travel’s blog.

Without any doubt, this is an effective team building activity at CocoCay island.
Hermit Crab, a little character found in a path on Cococay
Lois wrote in her blog an interesting article that she named Crossing the Road – Island of Coco Cay, Bahamas. In her article, she commented about a little character found on a path traveled by pedestrians and sand buggies on Cococay. She says:
She picked up the hermit crab and his recycled housing to move him to the side of the road. He got so excited about being picked up that I’m not so sure he appreciated the help.
